A series of great French fighter jets targeted by Indonesia

The news of the purchase of Rafale fighter jets for the Indonesian Air Force is increasingly in the spotlight when the French media openly mentions the type of Rafale fighter jet that will be brought back to Jakarta. Quoted from Defense Security Asia from an article dated May 21, 2021, the purchase of Rafale fighter jets by Indonesia from France, reported by the French media itself.

"French media claim that Jakarta has decided to buy 36 Omnirole Rafale fighter jets developed by Dassault Aviation. Malaysia has been researching for years whether to buy these Rafale fighter jets, but in the end, Indonesia got them. The Indonesian Ministry of Defense has reportedly approved the purchase. and now awaiting a final decision by President Joko Widodo who is expected to follow the decision made by his Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto," Defense Security Asia wrote in its article.

The Dassault Rafale fighter jet that Indonesia is eyeing is not an arbitrary plane. With the Optronique Secteur Frontal technology, it is not surprising that the Dassault Rafale fighter jet is a 4.5 generation multirole combat aircraft (MRCA). Optronic Secteur Frontal is one of the crucial technologies.

According to Dassault Aviation, when the Rafale program was launched, the French Air Force and the French Navy published joint requirements for an omnirole aircraft that must replace seven types. fighter aircraft at that time.

The new aircraft must be capable of performing a very wide range of missions:

1. Air defense/air superiority

2. Anti Access/Aera Denial

3. Reconnaissance

4. Close air support

5. Dynamic targeting

6. Air-to-ground precision strike/ban

7. Anti-ship attack

8. Nuclear antidote

9. Body to body refueling

These requirements were taken into account early on in Rafale's development, leading engineers to create aircraft that went beyond the needs of each type of mission.

Versatile and best in all mission categories, the Rafale is a true "Power Multiplier".

The Rafale has demonstrated an outstanding level of survivability during the latest French Air Force and Navy operations, thanks to an optimized fuselage and a variety of intelligent and discrete sensors.

Jakarta Claims to have Decided, French Media Says 36 Omnirole Rafale fighter jets will be brought home by Indonesia. Since Indonesia signed a statement on defense cooperation with France some time ago, the Dassault Rafale fighter jet has been discussed more and more.

France in the statement explained that they will supply Indonesia with the latest war machines, one of which is the Dassault Rafale fighter jet which has been targeted by the Indonesian Air Force.

Indonesia is said to be buying four types of defense equipment, namely the Scorpene submarine, MBDA Missile, Rafale fighter jets, and the LaFayette Class frigate.
