Kang Emil, as Ridwan Kamil is known, won an electability score of 13.8 percent. Far above Anies Baswedan's 7.5 percent, Sandiaga Uno's 6.9 percent, and AHY's 6.4 percent. Meanwhile, Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Puan Maharani only collected 1.7 percent and 1.5 percent, respectively.

The survey involved 1,200 respondents, from September 21-30, 2021. Respondents were randomly interviewed via telephone in various regions in Indonesia.

IndEX Research researcher Hendri Kurniawan revealed that his party is monitoring 13 names of figures who are predicted to enter the presidential candidate market in 2024. Apart from Ridwan Kamil, there are Prabowo, Ganjar, Anies Baswedan and Sandiaga Uno.

"Ganjar, Prabowo, and RK controlled the top three presidential candidates, while Puan and Airlangga crept at the bottom," he said in a written broadcast, Thursday (7/10).

Other figures on the list, according to the results of the indEX survey, are the Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, Acting Chairperson of the Indonesian Solidarity Party DPP Giring Ganesha, General Chairperson of the Golkar Party DPP Airlangga Hartarto, and Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal Affairs. and Security Mahfud MD.

Regarding the survey results, Hendri emphasized that the electability of Ganjar and Ridwan Kamil tended to rise, on the other hand Prabowo began to decline. This ensures tight competition between Ridwan Kamil and Ganjar Pranowo, in the 2024 presidential candidate market.

However, Hendri continued, Prabowo's chances of running as a presidential candidate are still much bigger, because he serves as the general chairman of a political party. "While Ganjar tends to get pressure from his party, the PDI-P," he said.

Separately, a political observer from Padjadjaran University (Unpad), Firman Manan SIP MA, assessed that public appreciation for Kang Emil's performance so far as Governor of West Java has helped boost his popularity as well as his electability.

"This (superior electability) returns to the positive performance factor that was inscribed by Kang Emil," he said.

According to Firman, the figures of ministers and general chairpersons of political parties in the survey, along with regional heads, are indeed those who are easily recognized by the public as survey materials.

"It's natural that Kang Emil was pitted against the minister or the head of the political party. This shows that a person's electability starts from being known by the public," he said.

Alluded to the figure of Kang Emil as a politician who is not a member of any political party, Firman said that this is another advantage of Kang Emil. Because it can be supported by the power of any political party in the 2024 presidential election.

“Kang Emil's electability is superior to that of the political party president. So that Kang Emil will freely and openly accept the support of any party," he explained. There are 13 names of figures who are predicted to enter the presidential candidate exchange for 2024. In addition to Ganjar, Prabowo, and Ridwan Kamil, there are also Anies Baswedan and Sandiaga Uno.

DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan ranks fourth with a score of 7.5 percent, then the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia Sandiaga Uno in fifth position with a score of 6.9 percent. a score of 6.4 percent.

Other figures on the list, according to the results of the indEX survey, are the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Tri Rismaharini, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, Acting Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party DPP Giring Ganesha, Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives Puan Maharani, Chairman of the Indonesian Parliament General DPP of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto, and Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD. Regarding the results, Hendri Kurniawan conveyed that the electability of Ganjar and Ridwan Kamil tended to increase, on the contrary Prabowo began to decline.

If the trend continues, Hendri predicts Ganjar has the opportunity to continue to occupy the first position for the figure with the highest electability level in the 2024 presidential candidate market.

However, Prabowo's chances of running as a presidential candidate are still much bigger, because he is the general chairman of a political party. On the other hand, Ganjar is considered to continue to be under pressure from his party, the PDI-P, explained Hendri.

"Despite being superior, Ganjar still needs a high enough electability to win support from political parties to compete in the 2024 Presidential Election," said the indEX researcher.

IndEX's findings refer to the results of a survey involving 1,200 respondents during September 21-30, 2021. The survey took place via telephone interviewing respondents at random in various regions in Indonesia. [Between]
