Covid-19 Free Green Zone in RI

The green zone, aka the area that does not have Covid-19 cases in Indonesia, has increased again. Now, the green zone is divided into three regions.

This was revealed in the latest Covid-19 Risk Zoning Map published on the covid19.go.id page, as quoted on Friday (1/10/2021). This is data as of September 26, 2021. This data is the result of weighting scores and regional risk zoning which is updated weekly. This data was previously updated on September 19, 2021.

On September 19, the green zones were in the Arfak Mountains, West Papua, and Intan Jaya, Papua. Now, the green zone has increased by one in South Manokwari, West Papua.

For the second week in a row, Indonesia itself has been freed from the shackles of the Covid-19 red zone. This means that there are no more high-risk areas for virus transmission.

Singapore and Japan are starting to be avoided by tourists because of the Corona Virus

The spread of the coronavirus that continues to expand has affected tourism in several countries.

For example, Singapore and Japan, which are currently also avoided by foreign tourists, because of the many suspected cases of the coronavirus that have been detected in the two countries.

One of those who had planned a visit to the country with the Merlion icon but canceled it was Jamie Wong (34), an employee of a British bank.

Quoted from the South China Morning Post, the plan is that Wong will visit his office in Singapore for some time, as well as attend his sister-in-law's wedding next week.

But he canceled his plans and decided to work from home. The decision came after he was told his journey would be through Hong Kong and could be quarantined for 14 days.

Not long ago, Singapore raised its country's corona danger status from 'yellow' to 'orange'. Singapore found 4 cases of people diagnosed with the coronavirus. He had no relationship with other patients and had not made a recent visit to China. Not only Singapore is Wong's travel destination. In early March, he also plans to visit Tokyo, Japan. The same decision was taken, he canceled his planned trip to Sakura Country due to the increasing findings of corona cases in the country. "I don't want to be infected," said Wong. So far, Japan has confirmed 64 positive cases of coronavirus infection. Flight cancellations On Twitter, many accounts ask the airlines they have booked, whether they can cancel flights to Singapore and Japan. One of them is a chemical technician from India, Ankita Sarkar. Friday (7/2/2020) he posted a question on the travel provider Goibibo's page, whether he could ask for his money back on the order at the Rest Bugis Hotel in March. A consultant in Singapore, Aydin Ilhan admitted that one of his employees from Brazil had not yet traveled to Singapore, because the wife was worried that her husband might catch the virus in the city-state. Singapore and Japan are countries that tourists are wary of, not because of the large number of corona cases found. But also the dense population in both countries. Also, the a large flow of tourists from China who visit both. This phenomenon certainly has a lot of impact on agencies experiencing travel cancellations. Dynasty Travel Marketing Communications, Alicia Seah said there was a drastic decline in travel. Alicia estimates a loss of 40-50 percent for the first half of 2020. "They don't want to take risks and avoid coming to Singapore during February and March," he said. Of that amount, Singapore lost the potential to enter 1 billion Singapore dollars, equivalent to 719 million US dollars from the tourism sector. Singapore's Transport Minister Khaw Boom Wan said his ministry was working very quickly with the Ministry of Finance. They are trying to develop tour packages to help parties engaged in the aviation sector. Khaw also asked for the acceleration of the construction of Changi Airport's Terminal 5 while the activity there was quite reduced.

Singapore's economy has slipped further into recession this quarter since the extension of the lockdown. Dealing is a very heavy blow to many business sectors.

Launching the BBC, economic growth in the tiny country shrank 41.2% compared to the previous quarter. This is the largest contraction in Singapore's history. The magnitude of the contraction shows how big the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is in this country.

Official data also showed that Singapore's second-quarter Gross Domestic Product (GDP) shrank by 12.6% compared to last year.

Singapore became one of the first countries in the world to release data on economic growth during the pandemic. The decline in this figure is sufficient to illustrate the magnitude of the impact of the coronavirus outbreak on the world. Singapore's deep slump also indicates that the pandemic has already affected the economies of many countries in other Asian regions.

Now many manufacturing manufacturers are having difficulty exporting, construction industry activities have stalled, and the retail sector has also experienced a decline in sales.

Another Asian economic power, namely Japan, also recorded a decline of up to 20 percent in the second quarter. Meanwhile, China is slowly starting to return to a safe path. The slump in Singapore's economy has also affected the level of people's confidence in the performance of the ruling party, which is considered to be in its worst performance since independence 55 years ago.

To address this economic problem, the Singapore government has pledged an allocation of $67 billion, or nearly 20% of national GDP, to provide stimulus to struggling businesses and households.

Singapore has also begun to dare to loosen its lockdown program since June 1. The next phase begins on June 19. Now, most shops and restaurants have started to open but still with strict health protocols.
