This was conveyed at the Socialization and Coordination Meeting for the Provision of Set-Top Box (STB) Assistance for Poor Households on Wednesday 15 September 2021.

To receive this STB assistance, the community must meet several requirements for the recipient of the free set-top box (STB) assistance as follows.

1. Indonesian citizen (proven by having an e-KTP)

2. Poor household and have television, registered with DTKS or regional social affairs apparatus

3. Located in a location that is included in the coverage of the terrestrial digital TV broadcast service area (which will be affected by Analog Switch Off/ASO)

The data collected on the prospective recipients of the set-top box (STB) assistance is carried out by the provincial and district/city governments.

The data that must be completed such as name, address, NIK, KK, having a TV or not, and electric power. The data will be verified first.

It is planned that the distribution of the free set-top box (STB) assistance will be carried out in 2 ways, namely, the recipients of the assistance pick up at a place that has been determined by the local government or by door-to-door services.

How to get digital TV channels with a set-top box (STB) is as follows.

1. Your analog TV and STB device must be connected

2. The TV is turned on and goes into AV mode

3. Adjust available options in AV mode with STB settings

4. The AV mode is determined first, then turn on the STB and press the Menu button

5. Look for the “Channel Search” option, then click “Auto Search”

6. Wait until the digital TV signal search is complete, then select the “save” option

7. Analog TV will show digital TV broadcast

Keep in mind that analog TV must remain in AV mode to continue to enjoy digital TV broadcasts. Digital TV has advanced features that viewers can enjoy such as viewing quality, both pictures, and sound that are clean and clear.

In addition, viewers can also see categories, schedules, and descriptions of television broadcasts in real-time. Not only that, there is a feature that helps parents select appropriate TV shows for their children. So, to speed up the digital TV migration process, according to Tifatul, all selected winners are required to fulfill their commitment to providing set-top boxes for analog to digital decoders.
