Patients recovering increases, district BOR is filled more than 59 percent

The development of data on handling Covid-19 cases in Buleleng Regency today, Tuesday (24/8), again experienced an increase in recovered patients. Today, as many as 92 patients have been declared cured and have been discharged. Related to that, the Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) in Buleleng is indirectly filled as much as 59.25 percent. This was conveyed by the Coordinator for the Data and Information Sector of the Buleleng Covid-19 Handling Task Force, Ketut Suwarmawan, S.STP., MM in his office.

Ketut Suwarmawan explained that the decrease in the percentage of BOR in Buleleng was due to a significant increase in recovered patients today. A total of 92 recovered patients came from 8 people from Banjar District, 38 people from Buleleng, 3 people from Busungbiu, 4 people from Gerokgak, 13 people from Sawan, 11 people from Seririt, 9 people from Sukasada, and 6 people from Tejakula District. “The increase in recovered patients, which has almost reached 100 people, indirectly reduces the existing BOR percentage. The decrease in BOR reached 8.84 percent compared to the previous data that hospital beds were filled with 68.09 percent. So today the total capacity of the Regency's BOR which is filled is 59.25 percent," explained Ketut Suwarmawan.

He hopes that the number of recovered patients can continue to increase, accompanied by the discipline of the people of Buleleng implementing strict health protocols. So that the increase in new confirmed cases that have occurred so far can be minimized.

Meanwhile, Ketut Suwarmawan, who is also the Head of the Communications and Information Technology Office of Buleleng, added that the development of data on new confirmed cases in Buleleng is still at over ninety and there is also one patient who died. “The number of new confirmed cases is still high to this day, but the number of recovered patients also compensates. In this regard, we again invite the people of Buleleng to always be disciplined in implementing health protocols in their daily activities, diligently exercising and taking regular breaks," concluded the Head of the Suwarmawan District Office.

Prioritize Agricultural Infrastructure Development

Even with the budget condition that is running low due to the handling of Covid-19, the Buleleng Regency Government (Pemkab) through the Agriculture Service continues to strive for the development of agricultural infrastructure in Buleleng Regency so that it continues. This effort is realized by utilizing the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) from the central government. This was stated by the Head of the Buleleng Regency Agriculture Office, I Made Sumiarta, on Tuesday (24/8).

Sumiarta explained that approximately 2 billion DAK was allocated to build irrigation, reservoirs, agricultural roads, and agricultural machinery. The realization, said Sumiarta, was handed over to Subak because the program is self-managed. So, each Subak group carries out the construction, management, and maintenance of the infrastructure that has been built, of course with the assistance of the Department of Agriculture.

Regarding irrigation development, the construction was carried out on a tertiary irrigation network belonging to 30 subak groups spread across the Districts of Buleleng, Sukasada, Kubuaddan, Sawan, Banjar, Seririt, Busungbiu, and Gerokgak.

In addition, his party is also working on piped irrigation and rain-fed reservoirs in areas far from water sources. Piped irrigation infrastructure was built in Busungbiu and Sukasada sub-districts, while dams were built in Gerokgak and Sawan sub-districts. Sumiarta added that his party also built the Trench Dam in Subak Lanyah, Menyali Village, Sawan District.

Regarding the overall realization, Sumiarta originally targeted all construction to be completed by the end of 2021. Meanwhile, up to now, the realization has reached 58%.
