This time, Anas Urbaningrum, the former chairman of the Democratic Party, who was circumcised, was sentenced to 8 years in prison. Anas was tried for money laundering.

At the cassation level, Anas was sentenced to 14 years in prison and a fine of IDR 5 billion, subsidiary of 1 year and 4 months in prison.

In addition, Anas was also required to pay a replacement fee of Rp. 57,592,330,580 to the state.

Not accepting the cassation decision, Anas submitted a PK in July 2018.

In 2008, he joined Permai Group with M. Nazaruddin to work on government projects. Then in 2009, after Anas became a member of the DPR, he also formed pockets of funds sourced from government projects and BUMN. He was assisted by Yulianis and Mindo Rosalina Manulang for projects at the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Munadi Herlambang to work on government projects in the Construction and BUMN sectors, and Machfud Suroso to work on projects at the university as well as the Hambalang project. In addition, he also conspired with several colleagues in the Democratic party including Mahyudi (Chairman of Commission X DPR RI) and Angelina Sondakh (Coordinator Banggar) to smooth out his plan.

For his various actions and maneuvers, Anas received wealth, including:

Gratification receipts in the form of cash amounting to Rp 2 billion from PT Adhi Karya;

Gratuity receipts in the form of money from Nazaruddin (Permai Group) amounting to Rp. 84.516 billion and USD 36 thousand for the purposes of preparing for the nomination of the general chairman of the Democratic Party;

Acceptance of gratuities in the form of money from Nazaruddin (Permai Group) in the amount of Rp. 30 billion and USD 5.2 million for the purpose of holding the election for the General Chair of the Democratic Party;

Acceptance of gratuity in the form of 1 unit of Toyota Harrier car for Rp. 670 million

Other gratuities are worth hundreds of millions of rupiah.

In total, more than Rp. 117 billion and the US,5.5 million (if translated into around Rp. 71.5 billion) Anas collected money from the proceeds of corruption in government projects, as well as a form of money laundering crime. He collected it in just a few months in 2010.
