 Senegalese Invade Indonesian Products, Food, and Electric Motorcycles


Various superior Indonesian products such as the CN 235 aircraft, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, processed food, and beverages, as well as MSME products such as batik clothing and culinary delights were exhibited at the largest international trade show in Senegal, FIDAK. Through assistance from the Indonesian Embassy in Dakar, the exhibition which will take place on 7-20 December 2021 is expected to facilitate Indonesian business actors who are interested in promoting their superior products, especially to prospective buyers from Senegal, West African countries, and the Middle East. "This facility is given to Indonesian companies considering the large opportunities for exporting Indonesian products, especially to Senegal and other surrounding West African regions," said the Indonesian Ambassador to Senegal Dindin Wahyudin in a written statement, Wednesday.

In addition, Dindin said, Indonesia's participation in FIDAK also aims to introduce Indonesia more broadly to the African community, including Indonesia's chairmanship in the G20, the potential for natural and cultural wealth, technological advancements in strategic industries, to the e-commerce industry. This year, the FIDAK exhibition carries the theme "Promotion of Agribusiness in Support of Economic and Social Resilience", while the theme carried by the Indonesian Pavilion is "Wonderful Indonesia". At the opening of the exhibition, the Minister of Trade and MSMEs of Senegal took the time to visit the Indonesia Pavilion and also expressed his admiration for the high-tech products produced by Indonesia. The visitors also seemed enthusiastic to know more about Indonesian products, especially the GESITS electric motorcycle and Quick agricultural machines.

On an opening day, there were orders for three GESITS electric motorbikes and the purchase of food and beverage products and medicines by visitors. In addition, it is noted that a number of entrepreneurs have expressed their interest in collaborating with Indonesian companies participating in FIDAK. “With competitive quality and prices, Indonesian products have great potential to succeed in the West African market. Moreover, the existence of halal certification in Indonesian processed food and beverage products further strengthens competitiveness for the regional market with a majority Muslim population," said Dindin. the exhibition this time.
