The Provincial Government of Bali under the leadership of the Governor of Bali Wayan Koster and the Deputy Governor of Bali Tjok Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati is committed to realizing an integrated infrastructure. One of them is by continuing the construction of new shortcuts or roads for the Singaraja-Mengwitani City boundary points 7A, 7B, 7C, and point 8 and Rest Area.

The continuation of this project is expected to reduce the bend and slope of the road. Thus, the structure is more sloping and shortens the travel time from Denpasar to Singaraja and vice versa.

Ground Breaking begins the construction of road sections 7A, 7B, 7C with a length of 601 meters and points 8 along 1,564 meters (total length of road 1,404 meters and total length of bridges 160 meters) and Rest Area or Anjung Pandang will be held on Thursday (2/9). ) morning in Pegayaman Village, Sukasada, Buleleng.

Groundbreaking for Shortcuts 7a, 7b, 7c, and 8 as well as rest areas

This was conveyed by the Head of the Bali Provincial Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency, Yasa Weda in a press statement on Wednesday (1/9) morning in Denpasar.

“The Governor (Wayan Koster-ed) is committed to completing the Singaraja-Mengwitani shortcut even during a pandemic. Even infrastructure developments financed from the APBN are all still according to plan, nothing has been canceled or cut. So everything will continue. The Bali Provincial Government has also completed the usual land acquisition," said Nusati.

Furthermore, Nusakti said that the construction of the Shortcut (SC) on the Singaraja-Mengwitani City boundary segment is important to create equitable development between North and South Bali, especially in the tourism sector following the vision of the Bali Provincial Government "Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali".

"The background for the construction of shortcuts at points 7A, 7B, and 7C is because the existing road conditions have short bends with small bend radii with a slope of more than 10%, so the vehicle speed is only 20 km/hour. The financing scheme with Pure APBN funds and SBSN with the planned cost of being combined with SC 8 worth Rp. 145,568,901,000 (Multi Years Contract),” he explained.

In this case, the Bali Provincial Government conveyed that Nusakti was working on Detail Engineering Design (DED) and carried out a land acquisition for points 7A, 7B, 7C, 7D, and 7E as well as point 8 with an area of 11,970 Ha with acquisition costs reaching Rp. 83,731,405,598 which has now been completed.

Not only that, but this project will also build a rest area or Anjung Pandang and Ki Barak Panji Sakti Monument as icons later. Where the garden and parking areas are 2.158 M2 and the building area is 180.3 M2 with an estimated cost of Rp. 4,171,904,431.67.

According to Nusakti, the construction of the rest area or viewing platform began with the visit of the Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono at the construction site for new roads points 3,4,5, and 6, which at the time was directed at building a viewpoint (rest area).

According to a joint decision between the Governor of Bali Wayan Koster and the Regent of Buleleng Putu Agus Suradnyana, the statue that will be installed at the viewing platform will be the statue of Ki Barak Panji Sakti. As is known, Ki Barak Panji Sakti is a figure of a king who is the pride of the people of Buleleng because the figure in that is known to be wise, wise, and very populist in leading his kingdom. The concept of the statue of Ki Barak Panji Sakti is facing west with his father which shows his territory which is visible on the land of Blambangan (Banyuwangi).

“The viewing platform can later become a great tourism destination

new and in the future will be integrated with the rest. concept

the area around the viewing platform, so it is expected

can improve the economy of the surrounding community," he said.

Furthermore, Nusakti said that the construction of a shortcut or a new road is one of the PUPR Ministry's efforts to support the recovery of the Bali tourism sector, especially in the northern part of Bali such as Buleleng Regency which has tourism potential which is expected to continue to grow.

"The Central Government, in this case, the Ministry of PUPR, continues to give priority to the budget for the development and development of infrastructure in Bali even though it is currently facing the Covid-19 pandemic. I make sure that all strategic infrastructure project plans in Bali will continue to run, such as the Shortcut or the new road for the Singaraja-Mengwitani city boundary, the Balinese Cultural Center in Klungkung, and the Construction of Protecting the Sacred Area of Besakih Temple in Karangasem, "he added.
