Efforts to control the spread of Covid-19 cases in Buleleng, OTG patients undergo centralized isolation

Deputy Regent (Wabup) of Buleleng, dr. I Nyoman Sutjidra, Sp.OG confirmed that asymptomatic Covid-19 patients or Asymptomatic People (OTG) will be isolated in the Ganesha Education University Student Dormitory (Undiksha) located in Jinengdalem Village, Buleleng District. This is done so that the supervision of OTG patients is more effective and sterile. This was conveyed by Deputy Regent Sutjidra after conducting a review of the isolation building, Monday (12/7).

Previously, the isolation of OTG patients carried out in hotels was considered less effective in terms of strict supervision. "Later on, all OTG patients who are undergoing isolation at the Grand Surya Seririt Hotel will be transferred to the Central Building of the Undiksha Student Dormitory. This place is sterile and will be closely guarded every day,” explained Deputy Regent Sutjidra.

In addition, the Deputy Chair of the Buleleng Covid-19 Handling Task Force (Satgas) also explained that the isolation building has a capacity of 80 people, which is divided into one room and has two beds. "Today, all the rooms are being cleaned, including by spraying disinfectants and the completeness of the infrastructure," said Deputy Regent Sutjidra.

He added that self-isolation is short-term with close supervision including the availability of supplements for patients. Deputy Regent Sutjidra hopes that with the implementation of the Emergency Community Activity Restriction (PPKM), the level of community mobilization can be reduced as little as possible. "We have synergized with the police and the TNI to conduct isolation at several points. So people are limited in their activities, if it is not urgent, don't leave the house," he concluded

Also present in the review of the isolation building, Buleleng Regional Secretary, Drs. Gede Suyasa, M.Pd., Assistant I Secretariat of Buleleng, Head of Buleleng Police, Chancellor of Undiksha, Head of Buleleng Pol PP, Head of Buleleng BPBD Executive, and Head of Buleleng Health Office. Meanwhile, the handling of Covid-19 patients in Buleleng, especially People Without Symptoms (OTG) continues to be carried out with centralized isolation which aims to prevent the spread of Covid-19 which is increasingly widespread in family clusters, so that those who are exposed must be separated from those who are healthy. The centralized isolation since 2 days ago has been relocated to a place at Mes Undiksha Singaraja in Jinengdalem Village. Today, Thursday (15/7) Undiksha gave back one building C, so the total rooms so far are 80 rooms with an accommodating capacity of 160 people. This is to make it easier for the Covid-19 Task Force to monitor the activities of isolated people without symptoms (OTG) so that the transmission of Covid-19 can be minimized. The efforts made by moving OTG patients to a centralized isolation place have been implemented since yesterday. This was conveyed by the Coordinator for Data and Information, Ketut Suwarmawan, S.STP, M.M when giving the release of the Covid-19 update in his office, Wednesday (14/7).

"Since yesterday until today, 24 new OTG patients have been transferred to the Undiksha dormitory. Why new OTG patients? so that the isolation period is not responsible in terms of time, "he replied.

In addition to the Undiksha mess, explained Kadis Suwarmawan, an approach was also made by the Regent of Buleleng to PHRI Buleleng in order to contribute from a humanitarian perspective by renting out his hotel as a place of centralized isolation.

“This morning, the Regent conducted an assessment of a number of hotel owners in tourist areas such as Pemuteran and other hotels. Hopefully, the hotel owner will be touched by his heart to participate in the efforts to control the Covid-19 Buleleng. This is not just a business, but a human side," he added.

Regarding the high number of confirmed patients, said Kadis Suwarmawan, this is a form or step of the government from the 3T side (testing, tracing, treatment) that is intensive. This testing and tracing effort is carried out as a form of anticipation of the spread of Covid-19 so that it does not spread further.
